Savinelli tobacco pipes all started about 1876 by Achille
Savinelli Sr. In Savinelli’s first store, he solely sold smoking articles. This
store was in the center of Milan near the Piazza Duomo. This shop still exsists
today! Savinelli started designing pipes in his small shop in Milan. Savinelli
would take his designs to artisans in the Varese district to get made.
Carlo, Achille Savinelli’s son, took over the store in 1890.
He ran the store for over 50 years. In 1948, he opened the workshop and
factory to start production for the pipes to be sold around the world. This new
facility helped make the quality of Savnilli tobacco pipes their finest.
